Tokom odlučnog dana bitke na Sutjesci 1943. godine, Nemci su zatvorili obruč oko glavnine partizanskih snaga, ostavljajući samo uski prolaz na Zelengori, između Ljubinog Groba i Košuta. Po strategijskom i moralnom efektu izuzetno se važna bitka odvijala na koti Ljubin Grob. Pripadnici druge čete, Trećeg bataljona Četvrte proleterske crnogorske brigade, preuzeli su zadatak da brane prolaz 24 sata. Iako neuporedivo slabiji od neprijatelja, zadatak su uz velike žrtve izvršili.
